3-Drug Lethal Injection
Statistical Tests of Percent Differences Among Execution Actors
3-Drug Injection: Among Soft Abstract Supporters, 83% were OK with executions using a combination of 3 drugs. Among Hard Abstract Supporters, 80% were OK with such executions. Among Executioners, 76% were OK with this method. According to the Chi-Square test, these differences are not statistically significant. The Sig. value is greater than .05. According to the Phi coefficient (.06) and Eta Squared (.004), the effect size of favoring this form of execution on the roles of execution actors is near zero.
When Soft Abstract Supporters and Hard Abstract Supporters were analyzed separately using the Chi-Square test with correction for continuity (2 X 2 table), the difference between them was not significant. According to the Phi coefficient (.03) and Eta Squared (.001), the effect size of favoring this form of execution on the roles of execution actors is zero.
