Researchers asked people in the Death Penalty Study: 'Have you or anyone in your immediate family (spouse, partner, parents, children) been the victim of a violent crime where somebody was injured?' As shown in the pie chart, over three-quarters of those in the study have never been victims of violent crime. Another 13% personally have been victims of violent crime. Another 10% have had family members who were victims of violent crimes.
